Pipeline Integrity Assessment : Keeping Operations Safe and Reliable

In this blog post, we discussed how Nucleom‘s pipeline integrity assessment solutions leverage advanced technology and expert analysis to help clients maintain safe and reliable pipeline operations. We highlighted the benefits of our solutions, including minimizing downtime, and improving data/results accuracy. We shared a success story of a pipeline integrity assessment for a client with a corrosion/dent dig, which allowed to identify potential issues before they became critical, and ensuring safe and reliable pipeline operation. Learn how our inspection solutions can improve your operational efficiency by assessing your pipeline integrity.

Introduction

Pipelines  are critical infrastructure, mainly for oil and gas and petrochemical industries. Ensuring their integrity is vital for safe and reliable operation, but traditional non-destructive inspection methods can be time-consuming and user-dependant. Nucleom offers advanced turnkey NDT solutions that combine cutting-edge technology and expert analysis to help clients minimize downtime and make informed decisions about their pipelines.

Success Story: Pipeline inspection on a corrosion/dent dig

Last fall, our team out of Montreal improved the efficiency and results accuracy of a pipeline inspection on a corrosion/dent dig, by combining the HandyScan Elite and Pipecheck program. We automated the detection, sizing, and evaluation analysis of external defects like corrosion and dents with the software. We also virtually straightened any bent/sagging piping via the program’s analysis process, providing a more efficient and accurate assessment of anomalies by demonstrating the deviation from nominal condition. By leveraging all these capabilities, we helped our client with its pigging tool verification process.

Complementary services

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a powerful tool that can complement pipeline integrity assessment solutions. By using FEA, engineers can simulate complex mechanical behaviors of pipeline components under various loading conditions, helping to identify potential defects and weaknesses in the pipeline system. FEA can also help evaluate the impact of external factors such as ground movement, temperature changes, and seismic events on pipeline integrity.
